Demountable Windowless Sampler Rig

The RESTRICTED ACCESS WINDOWLESS SAMPLING RIG uses a 63kg (super heavy) weight to percussively drive a 1m long hollow tube with plastic liner into the ground in order to recover soil samples for later geotechnical & strength testing. In addition to this SPT’N’ values / Dynamic Probes can be undertaken within granular soils using the same rig.

The maximum depth that can be sampled is 6m within granular soils and 12m in clay soils. This is due to the size and weight of the rig; therefore, this method should only be used for shallow foundations. If piling is to be considered, then a SHELL & AUGER DRILLING RIG should be used.

This rig can also be used to install groundwater / ground gas standpipes and deep datum points for level monitoring of structures.
