Environmental Report
The Phase Two Land Assessment is completed where the conceptual site model identifies a plausible risk during the scope of a phase I desk top study. The need for further investigation is borne out from the need for additional information to support the risk assessment and either confirm or remove risk from a possible source of contamination within or surrounding the site. The risk may be through soil risk, groundwater risk, ground gas risk or vapour risk.
The main investigation will involve both the targeting of source risk and also spatial assessments of the site to confirm the general background risk at a site.
This main investigation will include the following methodologies.
- Hand Excavation for recovery of soil samples.
- Mechanical excavation for recovery of soil samples
- Installation of monitoring wells for the purpose of ground gas monitoring, groundwater monitoring or vapour monitoring.
- Analysis of samples as defined within the desk top study, (the desk top study will identify site specific pollutants to test for rather than test for everything everywhere which would be uneconomical).
- Evaluation of the data received from the various investigation sources, (chemist, site sampling and testing) and an assessment completed as top the level, if any, of risk within the site.
- Preparation of detailed reporting to confirm the methodology, evaluation and outcome of the investigation in a readable format for review.
